1903 Death Threat Letter & Envelope Written in Blood Red Ink NOW YOU BEWARE

Offering this hand written letter and envelope that was mailed around 1903 (based on the issue of 1903 Washington stamp on the envelope) from a person calling themself "The Whiteheaded". The letter, penned in red ink, has the warning " Now You Beware" written at the very top of the page and reads as follows: "Mr. Cauldwell, as I thought it would be no harm to write you these few lines to give you another fair warning of your daughter as I havent seen her out this week yet and I have been on the watch for her and dont you think I havent and as far as for her friend Mr. Slater he has put to many straws in my path he will not put many more but it wouldnt give me the second thought to blow his brains out as well as hers . From a friend of yours the whiteheaded." The letter has it's original envelope that was addressed to a James Cauldwell ( The girls father) in Ausable Forks N.Y., along with a pencil written name, Bob Slater (apparently the suitor of the daughter and the subject of the threat). This came from an estate where the great grandfather was a local judge at the turn of the 20th century. A unique piece of bizzarre Adirondack criminal history. Both pieces are mounted to an acid free linen paper sheet and display nicely in the plastic sleeve. This is offered with a low opening bid. Shipping is $3.50 in the 49 states. Thanks
