This auction is for an old unsearched roll of wheat cents. End coin 1: A 1909 Indian Head Cent! Possibly the very rare 1909-S!! End coin 2: A 1909 Lincoln Wheat Cent! Possibly the rare 1909 VDB!! These unsearched rolls could possibly contain coins such as the 1909-S VDB or 1914-D Wheat Cents, the 1908-S, 1909-S or 1877 Indian Cents, or the 1916-D Mercury Dime (or really anything that will fit in a penny roll!). Check out the pictures below, which are of the actual roll you are bidding on. A while back I bought a large lot of old foreign coins at a small estate auction and these unusual looking penny rolls were included in the lot. I’ve been buying/selling foreign coins locally for the past 15 years, but I’ve never really bothered with pennies before, and I really don’t want to start now. (I have hundreds of these rolls!). So I thought I'd let someone who knows more about pennies have fun searching through these old rolls. According to a family member, these coins were collected by an old man who ran a filling station in California way back when. Apparently he'd go through the pennies (and even dimes) in his cash register each day and took out certain ones to put in his collection, so I assume these pennies have been out of circulation for a long time.
