1910's T207 Recruit Cicotte and B18 Blanket Gandil Pair (2). The tale of the 1919 Chicago White Sox is one most baseball fans would like to forget. For months, there was newspaper coverage starting with the World Series going into the courtroom happenings after the fix was discovered. From this spectacle has arisen the myth of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and has made household names of the seven other men who will forever be associated with the term "Black Sox." This auction begins with six lots that feature these infamous players who, thanks to their shortened careers make few card appearances. This presentation features: Eddie Cicotte - 1912 T207 Recruit (color added: top layer of bottom/right corner chipped away and black marker used to "complete" the black key line around his portrait) and Chick Gandil - 1914 B18 Baseball Blanket (presents EX-MT with miscut edge. Great colors and fabric quality. Grade: 0, Service: Appraised, Service No.: 2214479
