Hotel Portage was a 250 room hotel built circa 1912-13 in Akron, Ohio. The hotel was demolished in 1991. The name "Portage" comes from the "Portage Lakes", which in turn were named after the old Indian portage path which connected the Cuyahoga River which flowed North to Lake Erie and the Tuscarawas River, which through the Muskingum, flowed south to the Ohio River.
