Superbly presented 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal issued to a brave young soldier who served with the 1/8th Battalion (TF) Kings Liverpool Regiment (The Liverpool Irish) and was killed in Action on June 16th 1915 after fighting at Festubert, he had only been at the front for a few weeks. All medals correctly impressed to 3462 Pte. R. Bamber L'Pool Rgt. Robert Bamber was born, bred and lived for all of his 27-years in Blackpool, he worked as a labourer/engine driver for Blackpool Corporation.
He enlisted on December 7th 1914 and arrived in France on May 3rd 1915, just a few weeks later he was killed, his body not recovered from the battlefield close to Givenchy, he is now commemorated on the Le Touret War Memorial and also at the St. Pauls War Memorial, Marton, Blackpool and the Blackpool War Memorial, pictures of which come with the research along with his biographical information.
