Estate find!! Found this wonderful vintage 1920's DICTOGRAND RADIO LOUD SPEAKER tucked on a shelf in a cellar. Never saw one like this before. The speaker stands 26.0 inches high. The bell openning has a diameter of 12.0 inches. The base is metal. The horn itself I am not sure of the actual composition but those of you who are familiar with these vintage pieces should know. The cord looks to be original and it measures 12.0 feet in length. Cord itself is in excellent shape but it has been cleanly severed. I was told that the two pieces can easily be spliced together buy I will let the new owner handle that task. I have seen a few of these speakers on ebay, but this one is by far the best condition-wise. The base still has its original metal protective plate, which most often seems to be missing. This one also still has its 12 foot cord, which is often missing from prior examples that I have seen. No dents or dings just normal wear to bell and just minor paint loss on metal base. Name plate on base reads: " Patent pending Made in USA DICTOGRAND RADIO LOUD SPEAKER, Dictograph Products Corporation N. Y." The plug at end of cord identifies it as "PACENT NO. 40." It has a date of 1924. A great vintage piece that is a must have for the collector of these early types of electronics. Sold untested. Being offered at a LOW starting bid with
