SHK-27. A lot of 8 Medals, patches and pinback medals from the famous Culver Military Academy prep school in Culver, Indiana. This group of vintage memorabilia came from the estate of "R. E. Blount, originally of Anderson, Indiana." T is not a lot of information on the internet concerning Culver Academy memorabilia, but from what I found, I believe the medals and pinbacks were awarded to Mr. Blount for winning athletic events on "Beaver Day" during the summer of 1923, in particular Boxing Matches. All medals, etc., were made by the Robbins Company of Attleboro, Mass. 1 - 2. Two Medals or medallions which originally hung from a ribbon strap. These 2 medals could easily be used as pocket watch fobs. Underneath the ribbon or leather strap opening is "Culver Summer Schools." Then t is embossed lettering and pictorials: the word "Culver" at the top; a propeller; a pair of crossed sabers; an anchor; and a beaver sitting atop a large "C". Medals measure approx. 1-1/8 x 1-1/ inches. Inscribed on the back of the silver medal (marked STERLING on backside) is "Best Boxer, R. E. Blount, 1923." Inscribed on the back of the bronze medal is "Welterweight Boxing Champion, R. E. Blount, 1923." Light vertigris to front side. 3 - 6. Four large medals with pinback type clasps depicting a beaver sitting atop a large "C" on the front side. All are inscribed
