This is just out of the attic from the original owner who received it as a gift in 1927. Set consists of the engine, mail car, observation car, 8 pieces of curved track, and two sections of straight track. All cars still have their original celluloid windows. T are two pieces of hardware that the owner thinks were part of the mail-car system to have the car pick up the mail when it was moving. The set is no longer in the original box but one end of it is included and is marked as being set number “1422”. The boxes for the engine and two cars are included but the latter two are in very poor condition and only have a partial label showing. The engine box still has an almost-complete label. This set was played with stored poorly as t are some missing parts such as one of the handles to one of the sliding doors and rust on the mail car. The engine may or may not work as the set does not have the transformer. Two of the wheels on the engine are damaged with large chips out of them. It appears that may have been rusted and chipped. My guess is that this set was in the gentleman’s attic when he was a boy and the rain broke through and it was sometime before the train was saved. Please see photos and ask many questions.
