1932-S WASHINGTON 25C PCGS MS 62 Item Specifics Strike Type: Business Certification: PCGS Certification #: 24847811 Mint Location: San Francisco Grade: MS 62 Circulated/Uncirculated: Uncirculated Coin History With just 408,000 pieces struck, the 1932-S boasts the lowest mintage in the entire business strike Washington Quarter series of 1932-Date. This is one of the key-date issues of the type, and examples are eagerly sought in both circulated and Mint State grades. Of course, Mint State coins enjoy the strongest demand in the numismatic market of the 21st century, particularly at the Choice and Gem levels of preservation. Quarters of this type were first struck in 1932 during the bicentennial of President George Washington's birth. Interestingly, the Washington bicentennial project was originally intended for the Half Dollar, and the winner of the joint Treasury Department-Washington Bicentennial Commission competition was actually Laura Gardin Fraser. On March 4, 1931, however, Congress stipulated that the Quarter and not the Half Dollar should display the new design. Additionally, Treasury Secretary Andrew W.
