WWII SOVIET RUSSIAN LAKE KHASAN BRASS & ENAMELED BADGE WITH RECIPIENT'S ARMY ID BOOKLET. Brass badge is 1 1/2" tall x 1 1/8" wide. T is some green oxidation on the brass. Red enameled flag at top with red enameled banner at bottom. Enameling has some fine scratches. Screw back. The nut does not fit well on the post, and is probably a replacement. The 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" Army ID booklet has the recipient's photo, wearing the Lake Khasan Badge. Almost all 10 pages are filled in with dates from 1942 - 1944. The Battle of Lake Khasan ( July 29, 1938 âe" August 11, 1938) and also known as the Changkufeng Incident in China and Japan, was an attempted military incursion of Manchukuo (Japanese) into the territory claimed by the Soviet Union.
