1940 GE Wooden Radio, Beam-A-Scope HP560 Bakelite Knobs

This auction is for a General Electric tabletop wooden radio. It's Model HP560, and research indicates that it was made in 1940. The case is wooden, the knobs are bakelite, and the backing is pressed cardboard.

The radio has four push button knobs on top, and two knobs on the front.

On the bottom is a GE label, showing technical info.

It hums, has a little static, and the front dial lights up. But I haven't been able to pull in a station.

This is a wonderful collectible, but it shows wear and age. Also, the back doesn't stay on even though it's had new screws. Also, I believe the cord may have been replaced at some time.

The radio is 13 1/4" long, 8" tall and 7" from front to back.

A fantastic addition to any collection.
