Up for sale is my 1940's Slingerland Model 157. This snare drum is a solid ply. It is 14" x 7 3/8" deep. It has one calf skin head, all hoop clips and tension rods, snare wires, but and 3 point strainer with mounting hardware, all eight lugs with mounting hardware minus one lug screw, and both nickle over brass single flange hoops. Badge is unmolested. I was going to finish this drum but, thought better since I would never have played it. Well may be a few times but anything vintage I get, I am always afraid of using. I had to get era correct, re-plated vintage lugs for this since the originals were all too far gone. The paint has a few minor flaws but is pretty much in tact. The edges look good with very little separation of the reinforcement ring. Hey I am not as old as this drum and I have more problems that it does, this drums does show how things were really meant to be built. This drum needs a good cleaning ( if a little time is spent with hardware polishing this would look very sweet), a bottom calf head and the one lug screw to bring it back to beating again. If you always wanted a Vintage Radio King but didn't want to shell out all the money they demand here is your chance. Not a Radio King But SO DANG CLOSE !I included a lot of full size pictures, so you can check out this drum. If any other angles are needed please ask read more
