This is an original press photo. Briefly a huge "Cotton Boll" of smoke hangs over the No.2 (forward) Turret of the U.S.S. North Carolina the 35,000 ton Battleship giving her Firing Test somewhere at Sea. Photo made as the 16 inch guns hurled their missiles into the air at a 45-degree angle during the firing test. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-03-1941.
