This is an original press photo. These American Doughboys kept up a deadly charter with their machine gun in the shattered Argonne Forest, scene of some of the bitterest fighting in the closing days of the war. Their gallant gaining of this objective paved the way for the peace which Germany was forced to sign. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 3-20-1942.
