SMOKY Smokey SAM the Wild Fireman 1950 TIN litho WINDUP TOY by MARX Thanks for visiting my auction! PRIVATE AUCTION . . . . Bidder identities never will show on auction, now or when completed--no codes, no feedback numbers--simply, private! I'm primarily a seller of dolls, but occasionally come across a nifty old toy. So here's Smoky (sometimes spelled "Smokey") Sam, the Wild Fireman --a 1950 windup "Whoopee Car" by Marx constructed of a combination of lithographed metal (I'm guessing tin) and hard plastic, with metal moving parts beneath and within. I know little about how mechanicals work, so have taken many photos for you to judge its condition--and I'll attempt to describe what he does and does not do. He's definitely sold as-is, so please read the description, study the photos, and ask any questions before bidding. Two small and two large wheels and character's head are lithographed metal in what seems to be very good shape--'don't see any dings or scratches that would detract. He obviously didn't do much driving on concrete sidewalks. Base is metal, and windup key is attached at bottom. The Marx USA logo is embossed in plastic on the base. A tiny wheel is affixed below back of truck; it is black hard plastic. All mechanical parts appear to be present. Large wheels are wonky in order that toy can travel in circles, and small,
