In 1975 I began to collect signed 1958 Topps baseball cards through the mail by writing to the players. Since then I have worked to get every 1958 card signed, but I am still missing eight and have decided to break up the set and to individually auction most of the signed cards. To the best of my knowledge all signatures are authentic, but if any are ever proven to not be, I will refund the purchase price plus postage. I do not believe in paying a company to authenticate what I feel is genuine. This auction features a 1958 Topps baseball card signed in pencil by Willie Jones (deceased 1983). The signed card was purchased from an autograph dealer in the late 1970's at a card show in the Detroit area. The card is in poor condition but I purchased it with the idea that I would find a better example later, but I never found one. The card has many creases including one that goes from top to bottom. T is also corner and surface wear. T are glue stains on the reverse corners which make it look like the card was pasted in a book. It is posible to see through the glue but t are a couple of unreadable spots. I believe that Willy Jones is a tough 1958 signature but I would emphasize that the card is NOT very nice.
