1961 Letter & Autograph LYNDON B. JOHNSON Peace Corps

This is an original letter from then Texas Senator Lyndon B. Johnson inviting the addressee to the National Advisory Council for the Peace Corps, which Johnson was Chairman. The letter includes hotel rate info, etc, and is on Peace Corps stationary (8" x 10 1/2"), signed in blue ink (NOT a copy or stamp), authentic autograph of the late President from his early days in Congress. I believe this is an important document for this is when the Peace Corps was in its infancy. In good condition except that it has been glued to a cardbboard page from an album (wrinkling) & has 3 holes punched into outer edge otherwise, no other damage. staining or foxing. This letter has been stored in a scrapbook under plastic since the 1960's, and is new to the autograph & historical memorabilia market. Excellent historical document for the collector of Presidential autographs & correspondence, United States congress & political autographs & letters, Peace Corps & human rights, vintage letters & paper, etc. NO RESERVE!!!
