In October 1959, Olivetti purchased 69 per cent of the Underwood Corporation, taking a controlling interest in Underwood 's factories in the US, Canada, Germany and England, with a work force of 10,000. This added to Olivetti 's existing workforce of 24,700, at factories in Italy (two), Spain, Argentina, Brazil and Scotland. In 1961 a previous model was renamed under the Dual name Underwood Olivetti and the 21 model was born and manufactured in Spain. This typewriter has been tested briefly by me for this ad, but not used by me regularly, it was part of a private collection. It probably could use a new ribbon and some cleaning but as you can see the keys all do strike. Please look closely at the photos this is the item you will be getting.I am selling this as is.For other great vintage typewriters see my store.
