Salvation Army Captain Robert Engel, administrator of the Rehabilitation Center which employs 67 recovering alcohol addicts and mentally ill persons, demonstrates the need for clothing donations. To maintain the program, 10,000 pounds of clothing are needed daily, but only 5,400 pounds are coming in.Clothing contributions comprises about 6% of the sales in the five Portland area thrift stores. If donation do not increase, the Salvation Army may have to decrease its number of truck routes for at home pickups.Photo measures 9 x 8inches. Photo is dated 12-1-1982.
