Up for auction is a very nice copy of the well-known, but hard to find, 1995 paperback coffee-table style book "Collectible Figure Kits of the 50's, 60's and 70's" written by Gordy Dutt.Topics in this book include: buying and selling a model - phone, model show and mail order etiquette - how to grade your kit - plus hundreds of photos with accompanying descriptions and price ranges for boxed ans assembled kits. Given its age, the price guide suggestions of the book are outdated, but the book's great value lies in its coverage of the history of the various figure kit model companies and its pages of illustrations and details regarding models produced.These were the days before the creation of lines of action figures. Throughout the 50s, 60s and 70s kids and adults eagerly collected the plastic kit models of wacky figures, heroes, warriors, music figures, political leaders and sports figures.The photos in the book are all in black and white. The kits (as chapters) are listed by manufacturer, including: Addar, Airfix, AMT, Bachman, Hawk, ITC, Lindberg, Mego, Monogram, MPC, Multiple, Palmer, Parks, Precision, Pyro, Remco, Renwal, Revell, Superior, and other Misc kits.
