Very Rare 1st Edition Presbyterian Religious Opinion Book 1723

This is an extremely rare 1st edition book called A Sober Enquiry into the Grounds of the Present Differences in the Church of Scotland by Robert Riccaltoun published in 1723.
This book was published anonymously and was written by a Presbyterian minister, Robert Riccaltoun (1691-1769), who was a friend o he poet James Thomson. This is one of the first works on the "Marrow Controversy" regarding a book published that asserted the evangelical doctrine of free grace. This book has been reprinted and acknowledged as an important source on this subject.
The book is about 6 3/8" tall and about 4" wide. The binding is fairly good although the first few pages are very loose. It has writing in it that seems to be mainly names, which I have photographed. There are also some watermarks on a few pages and general darkening. The cover is a bit rougher with all of the corners either missing or rough as seen n the pictures.
That said, this book is in remarkably good condition for a book that is almost 300 years old and is considered an important text in researching the history of the Church of Scotland.
