We have all seen the mint set auctions that sayunsearched. Last Sunday a friend drops off a large box and says these were my dads, please get as much as you can for them. Most of the stuff in the box was either raw silver or sealed individual mint sets from 1960 to 1964. Then there was this box now listed in this auction. I opened the other lose mint sets and found some nice toned coins. I bought those for myself and sold the rest to a very respectable dealer that gave me a fair price.That leaves this box! I have been torn about what to do with it. If I open it, the value is what ever is inside. Could be a box full of deep cameo coins or cotton candy toned Franklins worth much more than my friend could imagine. Could be some proof sets white as the day they were minted and worth the going price for proof sets. Could be some badly toned coins worth what a dealer would give for melt.How do I get the best price for my friend. I really want to be the one to open them and be the first person to see them since they were packaged by a mint employee back in 1962. I have an obligation to get a better price if I can! If they do not sell in this auction, I will be very happy to open the box and see what is inside!!!! I’ll then get what I can for them with my friends best interests in mind.
