FOR AUCTION TODAY - A beautiful 2001-W $5 American Gold Eagle Proof coin in U.S. Mint packaging. The 2001 through 2005 $5 Gold Proofs are becoming more difficult to find as time passes. This coin is 0.1091 troy oz. of 22-karat gold struck at the West Point Mint.
The coin, presentation case, box, and Certificate of Authenticity are in excellent condition and have been stored in a bank safety deposit box since purchased. The coin and other items pictured are the actual ones you will receive. Please note that I have a P-Touch printed label attached to the end of the box lid with the coin's information. This makes them easier to find and identify w/o having to open each box. It can be carefully removed later if you wish.
If you go to the U.S. Mint website you will find that all production on the 2009 gold proof coins has been suspended temporarily. All gold blanks are being used to meet the high demand for the U.S. Mint gold bullion program. They are required by law ( Public Law 99-185) to produce the bullion coins “in quantities sufficient to meet public demand . . ..”
T is a low Reserve Price of $105.00 for this coin.
