Swarovski's exquisite 2005 annual limited edition Christmas Snowflake ornament. In 2005, Swarovski made the 550-pound star that adorned the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center (New York, NY). The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is the biggest, brightest, and most famous evergreen in the U.S. Composed of 25,000 sparkling crystals shimmering light off an astounding 1,000,000 facets, the Swarovski Star measured 9.5 feet in diameter and 1.5 feet deep and weighed 550 lbs. It was designed with two different effects: to sparkle during the day and illuminate at night.

As part of the Swarovski tradition, the 2005 ornament was handcrafted in the Austrian Alps by Swarovski's legendary skilled artisans, designed by Gabriele Stamey. This twelve pointed, 3 1/4 inch x 2 9/16 inch x 9/16 inches star shimmers magnificently on a royal blue satin ribbon through the top, with attached "2005" dated Rhodium medallion. This is an exact replica of the star that was atop the Rockefeller tree. It rests on blue velvet-like material to protect against damage in the original triangular blue box. Mint condition, never been used or displayed complete with the distinctive triangular gift box, including certificate of authenticity and second outer box.
