2007 JEFFERSON LIBERTY FIRST SPOUSE GOLD PROOF $10 COIN
- Source: eBay
The Thomas Jefferson’s Liberty First Spouse Gold Coin was the third release of the series created to honor the U.S. Presidents' spouses. Since Jefferson was not married while in office, the coin features an image of Liberty from a coin issued during the Presidential term.
The coins had a mintage of 40,000 coins, which was sold on the first day of sales. Following the one-day sell out of the first two releases of the series, the United States Mint lowered household ordering limits from five per option per household, to just one per option per household. Despite the reduced limit, the Jefferson’s Liberty Gold Coins still achieved a first day sell out.
You are bidding on the actual item shown in the right photo. The auction comes complete with the beautiful cameo proof 24 kt gold Jefferson's Liberty First Spouse coin in its protective casing, Certificate of Authenticity from the U.S. Mint, First Spouse Series box and sleeve, lovely wood presentation box and protective felt.
