2009 Denver Mint Lincoln "Early Childhood" First Day Of Issue labelPCGS special label, and graded MS66RD 2009 is the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, and to commemorate this event, the United States Mint is issuing 4 different cent versions in 2009. The first is the "Early Childhood" with the reverse of the cent showing the log cabin in which Lincoln was born. Additional releases will be available throughout 2009. The 2009 Philadelphia mint coins were released in his birthplace, Hodgenville, Kentucky. The Denver mint coins were exceptionally hard to find since banks dont have them in stock, and t was no official point of release for them. Luckily, these coins in my auction were discovered and submitted to PCGS to obtrain the new and colorful Lincoln label, and also receive the elusive First Day of Issue designation.
