The patch was purchased from the pilot, who was stationed with the 51th FS at Howard Field. The patch (WWII) is in perfect condition! Beautiful old USAAF patches 100% ORIGINAL, WW2 patch Auction is for item as pictured. ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCE!!! Brief History: The 51st Fighter Squadron was active from 1941 till 1946. Role Fighter Squadron Its last assignment was with the 6th Fighter Wing, based at Howard Field, Canal Zone. It was inactivated on 15 October 1946. Constituted 51st Pursuit Squadron (Fighter) on 22 November 1940 Activated on 1 January 1941 Redesigned 51st Fighter Squadron
