Up for bid is a very historic and rare lot from the estate of a 25th Infantry Division 35th Regiment (Cacti) Company E WWII veteran. You get everything seen in the photos- 57 qty. letters with envelopes covering 1944 and 1945. - I have read a couple of the letters and the soldier writes home in "code" about "trained today" and "training hard almost daily now" ..."training" was his way of saying combat so the censors wouldn't cut his letters. Some of his "heavy training" days correspond with the Luzon invasion in 1945. 30+ qty. Newspaper clippings regarding the Luzon invasion and the liberation of the Philippines. - You can match the dates on the clippings to the letters and estimate where the soldier's unit was at the time! 1 qty. Photograph showing American soldiers watching Japanese POW's clear ruble from a destroyed building in Manila. This is a very historic lot from the Pacific Campaign! U.S. sales only! No foreign bidders! Due to the historic nature of this lot I will only ship it registered with insurance. Thanks! See my other auctions!
