Nice 36" Ty Cobb Louisville Slugger H&B 40TC baseball bat Detroit Tigers 1920's

Here is a nice looking vintage 1920's era Ty Cobb signature endorsed Hillerich & Bradsby H&B Louisville Slugger model No. 40T.C. wood baseball bat made in Louisville, KY. The bat has a nice stamped Ty Cobb signature on the barrel with Trade Mark stamped above that and Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. stamped below it. This big bat measures 36" long (which is stamped on the knob end) and weighs 34 ounces. Great store model bat for the Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame legend.

Bat displays very nicely from the side with the stamping on it. The handle is cracked on the right side and has three nails in the handle there (see pics). Also a small crack on the left side which has an indention in the wood which is probably a small brad nail. The back of the barrel has some missing wood which is 7" long (see pics). There are 8 small nails and two bracket nails that were hammered in years ago I'd assume. Someone with time and expertiese could add wood there, or cover the area with wood putty or filler, I left it as is. There is some dead wood around the bottom area that was nailed. There had been some tape on the handle which I removed when cleaning the bat. So there is some differences (that don't distract bad in my opinion) from were that tape had been.
