Five (5) Russian lacquer boxes including: 1. an oval Palekh box marked "7548 Palekh 1980" measuring 1 ¼" height, 2 ¼" length and 1 ¾" width. This box comes with the original certificate, upon the back of which someone has written "At the Wall" and attached the original price tag of $270. The box is signed by the artist, whose name I can't read. 2. an exquisitely detailed rectangular Palekh box dated 1982 and bearing number "6786", signed by the artist lower right - see our photograph to read the name (to me, it looks like Konovanova, but I can't read Cyrillic) - with the original certificate, upon the back of which someone has written "Goodbye Summer by ..." and attached the original $600.00 price tag. This box measures 1 1/8" height, 2 3/8" length and 1 ¾" width. 3. a rectangular Kholui box with the original certificate dating the box to 1981, titled and signed by the artist on the front panel. This box measures 7/8" height, 2" length and 1 ¼" depth. 4. a rectangular Kholui box measuring 1" height, 2 1/8" width and 1 3/8" depth, titled and signed upon the lid and depicting a boatman with five rabbits. Charming and rather odd - evidently a folkloric illustration - with the original certificate. 5. a rectangular Kholui box, titled and signed upon the lid, with the original certificate to which someone attached the original price tag
