From Estate in North Texas: Vintage & gorgeous, 1950s era Wooden Sewing Box of cabinet grade Ash with triple tier, expandable compartments on both sides of the central carrying handle. Box measures approx. 16 1/2" long by about 8 1/8" front-to-back with angled, 6 1/2" tall, black enameld legs & central handle. All three tiers ride up & outward on black enameled bars solidly attached to each face of the box with brass screws. Top flat has a round knob on each side for independent opening as well.(See Photos) Opening right side top gives access to twin storage drawers of approx. 7 1/2" by 3 5/8" & opening left side gives access to three compartments. One oblong is of about 7 3/8" by 3 3/4", and the other two (2) measure just 3 5/8" square. The twin top side compartments probably hold the much used items & accoutrements of the home seamstress. Below are twin compartments, on each side, of about 7 1/2" square for the thread, bobbins, bulk buttons & fasteners we'd imagine ... but your guess as to what goes w is as good as ours! The Sewing Box is still in very good overall condition with little, if any, signs of actual use. Interior is spotless & clean.
