Sister Huldah,

It is with pleasure I sit down to write you a few lines and hope they may find you all enjoying good health. Well Huldah I don't know but you think hard of me for not writing to you more often than what I have. Well I don't know as it is hardly fair, but I have been rather busy this spring and the better part of winter and I have neglected writing on that account. It is not because I have had no disposition to write. No, I always like to write to any of our folks when I have a chance. You may want to know what I have had to keep me busy. Well I have carried the mail and worked in the shop and had the Captain's horses to take care of most of the time so you see I have been some what busy but I don't know as that excuses me from writing to you a letter, but Huldah, as you hear from me in the boys letters, I don't think you had ought to expect me to write
