This extremely rare set of six matching hand-painted blue & white Chinese export porcelain teacups was recently found in Stonington, Connecticut. Each cup has the same hand-painted scene on the outside and the same blue & white design on the inside rim. Each cup has the same style gilding which is on the inside rim, the base and the handle. Each cup stands approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter and has a 2 1/4 inch diameter rim. The scene painted on each cup was commonly found on Chinese tea sets from the late 18th century as was this style of gilding. The scene on each cup varies slightly because they were indiviually hand painted. This set may have been assembled long ago because the cups do vary ever so slightly (1/32nd to 1/16th of an inch) in hieght and some of the handles are slightly different. T are some very tiny nicks in the gilding ONLY of two of the cups. T are NO chips or cracks in any of the cups, they are in a remarkable state of preservation. To find one of these cups today is a treat, but to find six matching cups is a rare find indeed! EXTREMELY GOOD CONDITION! Buyer pays shipping & insurance.
