This is an UNBELIEVABLE and RARE find. A 1960s Packard Bell AR-851 in PRISTINE condition INCLUDING the original box with everything in it. it's like this has been in a time capsule for the past 45 or so years...and to top it off, it's the radio they used on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND!!! the greatest TV show of all time!! click on the link to see the prop used on the show: /radio.html The radio was made in Japan, measures about 12" long by about 4.5" high. Requires 4 "D" Batteries and works PERFECTLY. it has no cracks or chips...it does have yellowing in the front and on the side, i think that is just from the aging plastic though. the dials work fine, the numbers are clear. the box shows slight wear and staining, but again, for it's age is in incredible shape. it comes with the "owners pamphlet" (which states the model number as being 8RT2...i'm not sure why), it also has the original "mounting bracket" for a wall, complete with the two original screws. i opened the back to make sure it worked and the inside looks great, no rusting, dust or corrosion and also has the original plastic cylinders to show w and how the batteries go in (pictured). the back of the "door" also show no rust or wear, and even the sponge that holds the batteries in place shows no sign of decay. this in REALLY amazing shape, it's as if someone bought it and just stuck
