ABRAHAM LINCOLN 1809-1865 16th PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES ORIGINAL AUTHENTIC COLLECTABLE 1865 PHOTO of ABRAHAM LINCOLN TAKEN ON THE BALCONY OF THE WHITE HOUSE MARCH 6, 1865 The Photo is labeled " The Latest photograph of President Lincoln" and would later be changed to "The Last" after his death. This photo has been attributed to Alexander Gardner who was a protoge of Matthew Brady, the famous Civil War era photographer. These photos are quite scare and frankly I have only seen one other in the last 25+ years, that I have been collecting authentic Civil War Era Memorabilia. It was not framed, as this one is, in an original 1860's decorative ornate wooden frame This was purchased by myself from a very reliable antique dealer in the late 70's. A unique photo of Abraham Lincoln, 16" X 19"taken by Alexander Gardner on August 9, 1863 sold for a record $85,000 in an auction December 2004 in Los Angeles. This along with some other 1860 Era framed photos and lithographs (separately listed) would make a great addition to any antiquarian collectors estate. Bid with confidence this comes with good provenance.
