ABS Four Limoges enamel buttons circa 1930's/40's

Four highly experimental enamel and glass buttons by one of the Limoges factories circa 1930's/40's.They are all beautifully worked in richly coloured thick enamel over foil with the addition of glass chips and gilding. Clockwise from top left, t is a 1-1/4 diameter button that has a turquoise cylindrical chip of glass surrounded by trailing pale turquoise and thick white enamel with gilding. T is thick trailed ulramarine blue enamel on the rim. Next right is a 7/8 ins diameter button. It has four chips of ruby red glass laid in a cruciform shape over turquoise enamel with gilding, t is thick trailed ulramarine blue enamel to the rim. Below is a 1-1/4 ins diameter button with a ruby red cylindrical chip of glass surrounded by trailing thick white enamel T is thick trailed ruby red enamel to the rim. Finally bottom left is a 1-1/8 ins diameter button with an 'S' shape pattern of green enamel with gilding over pale green/turquoise enamel, in the curves are 'Stalagmite' style chips of pale blue glass. The rim has trailed thick turquoise enamel. Three of the buttons have pale blue stove counter enamel to the reverse while the pale green enamel button has peach coloured counter enamel with a painted backmark indicating the Limoges workshop and button style. All the buttons have round wire shanks. They are great examples of the skill
