Bowl W/ Koshari Figures Artist: Marilyn Ray Dimensions: 5 1/4" Tall x 5" Wide This adorable bowl with figures was hand sculpted and painted by Marilyn Ray, a very well known Acoma artist in New Mexico. Marilyn's style is so unique and different. It is easy to pick out her pieces for their bright colors and vibrant characters. Marilyn is the sister of other wonderful and talented artists; Rebecca Lucario and Judy Lewis. This is a very talented and well known group of ladies! This piece includes two koshari sitting on and around the rim of the bowl. Inside of the bowl is a small puppy on the bottom of the bowl, with a small lizard climbing up the side of the bowl. The puppy has small paw prints left on the bottom of the bowl. Both koshari's are painted with the traditional koshari patterns of strips on their bodies, and have the corn husks coming from the tops of their heads. One has a small ladybug on it's shoulder, while the other has the small grey trademark bird on his shoulder. This piece is very well done and is a perfect representation of the excellence of Marilyn's work. The faces of her pieces stand out the most with their big brown eyes. Marilyn's pieces are very collectable because no two are ever the same. This piece is very balanced and sits nicely on anyflat surface. It is in excellent condition; free of scuffs, scratches
