Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer Signatures in a "Birthdays" Date Book. Small, leather-bound date book measuring approximately 4" x 5", titled "Birthdays" which contains the signatures of friends and acquaintances. Owned by a Scandinavian girl who was attending Princeton at the time, the book contains primarily the signatures of her school chums, each penned on that person's birthday. It also includes the signatures of two of the world's greatest names in physics, Albert Einstein (March 14 page) and Robert Oppenheimer (April 22 page). Reportedly, a friend of the young woman that owned this book worked at the Institute for Advanced Studies, and secured the signatures for her friend while at work one day in 1953. The book is accompanied by an outstanding full-length black and white image of Einstein wearing a heavy coat and knitted cap, measuring 5" x 7" and matted to an overall size of 7" x 9.5". Book shows moderate wear at spine, edges and corners; interior pages are undamaged. Photograph is pristine. Grade: 0, Service No.: 0
