Most metals were devoted to the World War II effort in the 1940s, so ladies got wonderfully creative in crafting personal adornments from just about anything at hand. This dazzling vintage comb is one of the more successful efforts - perfect for holding back your curls on one side or accenting your French twist. Almost 7" long and 3 1/2" wide, it's a whopper composed of gilded hard plastic leaf forms set with three large stylized flowers of shimmering abalone. The back is a reddish faux-tortoise shell comb of the type popular in the Retro era (1935-1950). The condition of this one-of-a-kind jewel is so lovely it can't have been worn much and its provenance is a New Mexico estate. We promise you'll absolutely *never* be overlooked with it in your hair. There's no charge for U.S. shipping and gift wrap is always free when desired. Thanks for looking!
