Amazing demi parue signed by the world renowned Albert Weiss Company. Words truly can not express the magnitude of startling beauty one experiences when viewing this set for the first time. The brooch is a sizable 2 1/4" square and is buffet of every fine quality emerald green stone ever used in quality costume jewelry. Absolutely, breath taking, this brooch host huge dome shaped oval and round cabochons, marquis cut A.B. emerald green accent stones, tear drop - round - baguette - and square cut lead crystal rhinestones. All set delicately in a nest of bronze tone base metal. Other than a braided metal frame around the outside of the brooch the metal base is never seen as the entire surface of the brooch is covered in what appears to be free floating stones. A truly artistic appearance. This brooch is accompanied by a pair of matching clip-on style earrings which match the brooch remarkably. Each earring measures 1" square and are equally adorned with rich emerald green stones. The clips on each earring retain appropriate tension to be fully functional and in excellent condition. The entire set is in pristine condition. It appears one stone has been secured further with a small amount of glue visible only from the reverse side. Albert Weiss, a jewelry designer and manufacturer, founded the Albert Weiss & Company Inc.NYC in 1942. He had been a former employee of Coro. The company prospered during the 1950s and 1960s. Weiss jewelry offered high quality costume jewelry using excellent Austrian diamente or clear and colored and aurora borealis rhinestones of exceptional quality and clarity, faux pearls, clear and glass colored stones with antique and gold-tone, silver-tone and Japanned metal settings. Desirable pieces sought after by collectors are the beautiful rhinestones studded figural jewelry that includes the Weiss butterflies and insects. Weiss jewelry has become highly rated and is increasing in price, and is said to be comparable to Eisenberg and Bogoff jewelry. Weiss manufactured jewelry for wholesale to stores including JC Penny and Sears & Roebuck with the stores using their own name boxes for retail sales.
