This auction is for an American Flyer Missouri Pacific LinesBox Car with sliding doors, car number MP 983 . I believe this car was made in the 1956-7 time-frame and is stamped AMERICAN FLYER MFG BY THE A.C. GILBERT CO. NEW HAVEN CONN USA on the underside.I would rate this car a C-6 in very good used condition. The paint on this box car is in very good condition considering it is nearly 60 years old. Both of the Missouri Pacific Lines stickers are present and in very good condition on the sides. Eagle Merchandise Service is also painted on both sides. The paint does show some signs of wear as seen in the pictures. There is nothing broken or missing, except for the brake wheel on the front end. Both doors slide easily and the handles and latch knobs are intact. There is light rust on the door tracks and one of the door handles. This car has a metal base and plastic body, with metal trucks and axles. The car has original magnetic knuckle couplers, that both work perfectly . This car does not come with a box.See photos of top, sides, ends, and underside for details. I can provide additional pictures if needed, just ask. Auction is for the box car only. Sold As Is.Please ask questions and I’ll answer as best I can. I’ll be posting additional American Flyer S scale, as well as N scale from various manufacturers, over the next few weeks,
