Merry Mills (or Merrie Mill as it is called today for its original name) in Keswick, Virginia, was founded in 1857 and once owned by John Armstrong Chanler, an heir of the Astor fortune. Chanler converted a cow barn into a theater to house 300 people, showing regular films complete with a player piano and snacks.

Condition Report:
