Antique (1700s) French Coloured Engraving Print, Naples

This original hand coloured French engraving was done as part of a "Port Series"; Engraved by Jacques Le Bas,1743 - 1783, after the artist, Claude Joseph Vernet, 1714-1731.
"Vue Des Galeres De Naples, XIX Estampe d'Apres M Vernet."
The condition is very good for the age, almost 200 yrs old; there are several significant creases which indicate that it was folded for a period of time. There are no tears or holes, however, and with some basic restoration and cleaning this very special antique maintains its integrity with regard to color, and all the original details. The frame is in disrepair all around edge, but the two inner frame sections are all original and intact. The outer edge could easily be removed and stained black to match the adjacent section. There was a restoration done to the word "Monseigneur" in the subtitle on the bottom of the engraving, which stands out with white ink"
