This is a beautifully made antique violin, bow and case. The violin measures approx. 23.75" long and 8" wide. The violin has it's original finish and has wonderful tiger striped wood grain all along the back and neck. It is missing a chin guard, but otherwise looks to be complete. It has some wear, but appears to have been very well kept. It has the impressed "Stainer" mark on the back of the neck and an old paper label inside that says "Carl Vulzar Germany". The antique bow measures approx. 28.75" long. It is in very good condition, but a few of the old horsehairs have broken and there is some rosin buildup on them. It has a nice ebony wood handle with mother of pearl inserts and a what looks like an ivory tip. It has a stamped mark that says "Tourte". The case is made of heavy bent wood and is lined with old paper and felt. There is a wood separation that runs the length of the case on the top, but it is still very solid. It has brass hook and eye fasteners and and an old metal hinged handle with a lock. I do not have the key. The case looks Victorian in age. I would like to sell all three together because it seems like they have been well loved and played and have been together for a very long time.
