John Alden, Myles Standish, Elder Brewster, Mary Chilton, Priscilla, Rose Standish
150+ years old!
A fabulous and rare 19th century (c1860s) framed print of the first settlers (and Mayflower travelers) of Plymouth Plantation in Massachusetts! Wonderful clean, bright and vibrant full color images of John Alden, Rose Standish, Elder Brewster, Mary Chilton, Myles Standish and Priscilla !
In Good- condition ; very clean and bright full color images; matting exhibits moderate wear, staining to edges, soiling. Shows crease marks on the center part of the matting. The names of each pictured pilgrim is printed on the matting. I can not find another example of this specific piece; perhaps these were tobacco inserts that someone had specially framed and matted with the names however I am unsure. Framed in a great period gold painted wood and gesso frame. Images are protected behind glass with a wonderful old pine pack panel and period nails!
Each image circle is 3 1/2" in diameter and the entire piece with the frame measures 26 1/2" x 10 1/2"; complete with antique picture wire this rare piece is ready to be displayed proudly!
Overall, a wonderful antique, 150+ year old, set of full color images
