Antique 1920's Hand Painted Store Cash Metal Tin Box

Selling for my 78 year old friend, his parent's 2nd cash box. They owned "pen shop" in the 1920's as an office supply type of store. At that time, everyone had fountain pens that frequently had to have new points. At the end of the day, they would put the days' receipts in the box & hide it in their home. This one has the insert-2 compartments-that could hold paper or coins. This handpainted box has the red & gold trim on it. Through out the 80 years, it has much of its patina & still a rare find. 12" long, 8" wide & 5 1/4" tall. I've taken pictures to show the scratches & wear. The hinges still work on the inside compartment. The handle is still attached & the hinges still work. No key included. Please e-mail any questions. From Smoke Free Environment!!
