Antique 19thC Hammered Brass Plaque *Queen Henrietta* Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Album Measuring just over 36 inches or 3 feet in diameter this large, hand hammered brass plaque depicts Henrietta de France, Queen of England. She was Queen between 1609 & 1666 she was married to Charles I of England and daughter of Henry IV of France. I know you have seen large round brass decorative plaques in the past, but they are usually much later 20th century stamped tourist plaques. This large brass plaque is hand hammered and from the early 19th century. The outside edge of the brass is wrapped around an iron ring for strength. The front was kept polished over the years and there is some green verdigris from the polish. The back of this plaque shows the untouched black patina, which took all of 175 plus years to produce. The only problem is to the original hanger on the back. It is just above the queens head, and has broken right where the hanging hole would have been. A past owner added a small hole at the top and added a wire. This is the only problem with this early 19th century brass plaque and there are no repairs. There is No reserve on this auction and I guarantee 100% that the high bidder will be more than satisfied with the quality, condition and age of this 19th century Brass Plaque,
