These artifacts were the property of Guy R. Love who was born Mar. 6, 1876 or 1877 depending on which records you read.
He was issued a passport for traveling to/or in Tangier, Morocco on Mar 31, 1909 when he was approximately 33 yrs old.
He had already been “stationed at the American Legation in Adis Ababa, Abyssinia at least two years prior to 1909 at the request of President Theodore Roosevelt.
He served there about 5 years until his death in 1913. Guy’s body and affects were not shipped home until the following year.
Previous to going overseas Dr Love had been a dentist in the USA. He wrote home weekly to his “Dear Mamma” (Mrs. Flora Jane {nee Darwin} Love)weekly during that time. Guy states in his July5, 1911 letter that he is sending home a pepper box and salter made of
