Old antique bisque composition German Simon & Halbig Schmidt character baby Doll

UP FOR ADOPTION I am pleased to offer you this “delightful” antique German character baby doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is "1296 , F.S. & C., Simon & Halbig, Made in Germany". Reference attributes to German doll maker Simon and Halbig Exclusively for Franz Schmidt & Company, 1890 to 1912 on. I do NOT know the past restoration history but will try to describe her the best I can with any flaws. Measures 17" tall being a bisque socket head on jointed bent leg composition baby doll body. Doll is strung fine jointed at the neck, shoulders and legs with all fingers and toes intact. Paint touch-ups on body include red accent lines between fingers and toes with polish on nails. There is a "working" crier in the stomach. A wonderful character face with fat rosy cheeks, I see no rubs or scratches on this near perfect little face. Doll has open and close brown glass sleepy eyes that work fine, they are also "Flirty" eyes that move from side to side. Upper eye lid is molded with no painted lashes, the lower lashes are painted with straight strokes, lightly applied. The eyebrows are light brown with many individual strokes, she has pierced nostrils with holes punched into the bisque, an innovation of Franz Schmidt in 1912.
