Antique 19thC Cranberry Enamel Painted Bohemian Glass Lustre Prism Vases The Pair measure 13"tall,with a 6"base and top rim of 6".Beautiful opaline white glass cut back to cranberry glass.Each has ten 8"long(top to bottom,both parts) cut crystal prisms. These lustres are hand enamelled with flowers (five different alternating panels on each)and accented with gold gilt decorations.There is loss of gold gild here and there,especially on stems,base etc.But this does not detract from there overall glorious appearence.(They are 140 plus years old). Sold as a pair,but are not identical,gold gilded cross hatch slightly different on panels etc.
The prisms are in good antique condition,but there are some flecks,flea bites to some of the prisms with some points at end missing.Over the years some have been rewired/rehooked and some of the small prisms at the top vary in size(could be original,but i do not know),not major,but noted and do look perfectly acceptable(please see photos).And you will agree.All the same cut just very slightly differing sizes.These are vases and are not bottom less,like some..
The vases have no repairs or cracks,however there is a small chip/fleck to inside of one of the top rims.Please see photos 11 & 12 for each side,very small and very minimal..
